Your privacy.

We hold your number, your name, your age and your photos. We do not hold your email, your last name, or your location. Here is all of it, in plain language.

01 — What we hold

The short list of
what we know about you.

Rio Now asks for very little, because very little is what an introduction needs. Everything below is something you typed, chose, or uploaded yourself.

  • Your mobile number, used to verify that you are one real person and to send you a one-time code
  • Your first name and your age
  • Your photos — one to four, uploaded by you
  • The neighbourhood you are in, chosen from a list. Never a location from your phone, never a pin on a map
  • Whether you live here or are visiting, and the dates of your stay if you are visiting
  • Your gender, and who you would like to see
  • When you are usually free, and one optional line about yourself
  • Your height and weight, which every profile shows
  • Whether you offer or are looking for massage and wellness
  • Your language — English, Portuguese or Spanish
  • Who you asked to connect with, and the messages you send after a mutual yes
  • A record of what you paid for, held for us by Stripe

We never ask your phone for your location. Rio Now is invitation-only and everybody on it is already in Rio, so how far away you are is not something we need to know, and we would rather not hold it.

You choose whether we message you at all. Say yes and we send a WhatsApp when someone is interested or a message arrives — nothing else, ever, no offers and no reminders to come back. Say no and we send you nothing; you open Rio Now when you feel like it. You can change your mind in your profile at any time.

No email address. No last name. No password. No Instagram. No address book. No location.

02 — Where it goes

Three companies,
and nobody else.

We do not run our own servers, and we would rather tell you whose we use than let you guess.

Your card number never reaches us. It goes from your browser to Stripe, and Stripe tells us only whether the payment succeeded.

  • Supabase stores your profile, your photos, your matches and your messages, on servers we rent
  • Twilio sends the one-time code to your phone by SMS or WhatsApp
  • Stripe takes the payment and holds the card details

Three suppliers, each doing one job. That is the whole list.

03 — Who can see it

Only people
in the room.

Rio Now is invitation only, and nothing on it is public. There is no profile page a search engine can find, no link you can send to someone who is not a member, and no way to browse it from outside.

Your phone number is never shown to another member. It stays with us unless you decide to hand it over yourself in a conversation.

  • Other members see your first name, age, photos, neighbourhood and the details you filled in
  • Nobody sees your number, your exact location, or what you paid
  • Chat opens only after both of you have said yes
  • A small team of people at Rio Now can see profiles in order to moderate them and answer you when something goes wrong

If a stranger cannot get in, a stranger cannot see you.

04 — How long we keep it

It leaves
when you do.

Your profile runs for seven, fourteen or thirty days — you choose which when you make it — and then drops out of the pool unless you keep it going with one tap. When you delete your profile, or when your stay ends, your profile and your photos are deleted — not hidden, not archived, not kept for later.

Two things outlive the profile, and both for a reason. Payment records stay with Stripe and with us because Brazilian tax law requires it. If we removed someone for behaviour, we keep the phone number so they cannot walk back in under a new code.

  • Profile and photos: deleted when you delete them or when your stay ends
  • Messages: deleted with the conversation they belong to
  • Payment records: kept as long as the law requires
  • Numbers of people we removed: kept, so the removal means something

05 — What we never do

Not sold,
not shared, not tracked.

This is the part most sites bury. We would rather say it plainly and be held to it.

  • We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone
  • We run no advertising trackers, no pixels, and no third-party analytics that follow you off this site
  • We do not read your private conversations, except when someone reports one
  • We do not use your photos in advertising
  • There is no algorithm sorting who you get to see. You see everyone who fits what you asked for

06 — Cookies

Almost
no cookies.

The marketing pages you are reading right now set nothing. No banner, because there is nothing to consent to.

Once you are inside with a code, your browser keeps a login token so you are not asked for a new code on every page, and it remembers which of the three languages you chose. Both are needed for the site to work at all.

07 — Your rights

Ask us
anything, we answer.

Under the Brazilian data protection law, the LGPD, you can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. You can do that by writing to us on WhatsApp, and you do not need to explain why.

Deleting your profile inside the site does all of it in one tap. If you would rather a person did it for you, ask us and we will.

08 — Reaching us

One number,
a real person.

Rio Now is run from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Write to us on WhatsApp at +1 843 304 0953 and someone answers. If we ever change this page in a way that matters, we will tell members inside the site rather than quietly editing it here.
