Rio Now
The terms.
Short, in the same language we use everywhere else. Twenty‑one or older, in Rio, invited by somebody. You pay once to open a conversation, and nothing renews.
Last updated 30 August 2026.
01 — Who can use it
Twenty‑one,
in Rio, invited.
Rio Now is for adults, in this city, who were invited by someone. All three conditions, at once.
- You are between 21 and 65
- You are in Rio de Janeiro, or arriving
- You came in with a valid invitation code
- One account per person, on your own real phone number
- The photos you upload are of you, recent, and yours to upload
02 — The invitation
A code
is a loan, not a right.
Codes come from people — a friend, a host, a card in your hand. One invitation per code, good for thirty days.
Because somebody vouched for you, we can also take that back. If you behave in a way that embarrasses the person who invited you, we will remove you, and we do not owe you a hearing first.
03 — What you pay for
You pay
to open a door, once.
Looking is free. Saying yes is free. You pay only when two people have both said yes and you want the conversation to open. There is no subscription, nothing renews, and nothing charges you again on its own.
One connection is R$50. Three connections are R$100, and you use them whenever you like. Five days of unlimited connections cost R$500. Prices are in Brazilian reais and include the tax that applies.
- Nothing recurring. Nothing to cancel
- Connections you bought and did not use do not expire while your account is open
- A five-day pass covers every connection you open inside those five days
- What you pay is for the introduction and nothing else
04 — Refunds
If the door
never opened.
If you paid and the conversation did not open because something on our side failed, write to us and we refund it. That is not a favour, it is what you paid for and did not get.
If the conversation opened and the other person then stopped replying, we do not refund it. We sold you the introduction, and we cannot sell you somebody else’s interest.
Seven days to change your mind
Because you are buying at a distance, article 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Code gives you seven days from the moment you pay to withdraw and get your money back, without giving a reason. Write to us and we return it. This right is yours whether or not we mention it here, and we would rather say so plainly than have you find out from somebody else — but it is a right to change your mind about a purchase, not a way to use the connections you bought and then ask for the money back.
05 — How to behave
Be someone
worth meeting.
There is no long list here, because the short one covers it. Do not be anyone you would be ashamed to have introduced.
- No pretending to be someone else, and no photos that are not you
- No harassment after somebody has stopped replying
- Nothing involving anyone under 18, ever, in any form
- No selling, no recruiting, no advertising to other members
- Nothing illegal in Brazil
- No screenshots of other members posted anywhere else
- No scraping, no bots, no automated accounts
Report and block are one tap. We read every report.
06 — What we are
An introduction,
and no more.
Rio Now introduces two adults who both said yes. What the two of you agree to do after that is between you, and each of you is responsible for it. We are not a party to it, we do not supervise it, and we cannot guarantee it.
We verify a phone number and we check profiles by hand. That is not a background check, and we do not run one. Meet in public first, tell a friend where you are going, and use your own judgement — the same judgement you would use meeting anyone in this city.
- We do not run criminal or background checks
- We do not verify what anyone tells you about themselves beyond their number and their photos
- We are not responsible for what happens when you meet
- Any arrangement between two members is theirs alone
07 — Leaving
Delete it,
and it is gone.
You can delete your profile at any time from inside the site, without asking anyone. Your profile and photos go with it.
We can also close your account — for breaking the rules above, or because the person who invited you asked us to. If we close it for a reason that is our fault rather than yours, we refund anything you paid for and did not use.
08 — The small print
What we
do not promise.
We will not promise that the site is never down, that you will meet anybody, or that anybody you meet will be who you hoped. Anyone who promises you that is lying to you.
If we fail you, what we owe you is limited to what you paid us. Brazilian law sets a floor we cannot go below, and we do not try to.
These terms are governed by Brazilian law, and Rio de Janeiro is where any dispute is heard. If we change them, we will tell members inside the site before the change takes effect, not after.
